We met Spencer at a Hearts of Gold event on April 1st, 2007 and immediately fell in love with him. Without hesitation we filled out the paperwork to initiate the adoption process. His foster mom Cindy Drantell had been caring for him for the previous 4 months in an effort to help get his epilepsy under control. His adoption was finalized on April 21st and we welcomed him into our lives with open arms and loving hearts intent on giving him a fulfilling and wonderful life. He became our "forever child" in his forever home. The three of us were an inseparable team. Rain or shine he never missed a morning or evening walk. We were able to manage his epilepsy (seizure free for over 4 years!) and beat his Valley Fever into remission, but in early April he was not quite himself. We took him to his vet on April 7th and learned he had developed a very aggressive hemangiosarcoma that he just couldn't overcome. Spencer crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on April 15th. He died in peace at home in our arms. He was almost 12 years old and had been in our life for 9 years. The silence in our house is deafening and his absence has left a huge void in our lives. We miss him greatly. We will forever cherish the great joy and happiness he gave to us.
